Our Approach
Hi everyone,
My name is Samantha. Sam, for you lovely lot. I'm a thirty year old, married woman, residing in West Wales with my husband, and my two lovely little cats.
My days are spent not doing much, and only a little when I can. But my passion has always been writing, and to help people. So I've created Mito and Me to satiate my craving for writing, but also to raise awareness of something called Mitochondrial Disease. If you haven't heard of it, that's fine. Not many people have. And that's why I'm here; to give people an insight into what Mitochondrial Disease is, and also how it affects my life, day-to-day.
That is why I want to raise awareness, and bring Mitochondrial Disease to the forefront of people’s minds. It should be as well-known as any other debilitating, and serious condition, and whilst there are some Professors, and Doctors, who work tirelessly to research, and find ways of treating, or preventing Mitochondrial Disease, there are far more who know nothing about it.
I want to be an advocate for this disease; a voice to be heard, and to educate people on something that most do not know about. Raising awareness is the key to funding much needed research, and hopefully, one day, the research that we have funded will finally find a cure. I want to know that I have had a hand in directly contributing to finding a cure for Mitochondrial Disease.
I hope Mito and Me can bring you awareness, and knowledge, and an insight into how it can affect a person, and hopefully you'll join me in the fight against Mito!
Love, Sam x
